Printed Flowers: Josef Frank in NYC

Printed Flowers: Josef Frank in NYC

Today’s post brings me back to my intern days working for an interior decorator. I made many a trip to Just Scandinavian, a colorful bright spot in TriBeCa. It was always a treat to have to go and pick-up or return fabric samples or check on orders. Purveyor of all things Scandinavian, Just Scandinavian houses a collection of furniture, lighting, and accessories by about 30 different Scandinavian designers and artists, and the iconic fabric and wallpaper prints designed by Josef Frank. Created by Frank in the mid-nineteen hundreds in Stockholm, his lively, colorful, bold botanical prints for fabric and wallpaper are as modern today as they were seventy-five years ago. Google even payed homage to Frank creating a Google Doodle for his 125th birthday last July. I went a little crazy photographing, but I just couldn’t help myself. It brings me joy to share these beauties with you.

*UPDATE* Just Scandinavian has closed in New York City as of May 2012. You can find Josef Frank textiles through Svenskt Tenn.
