Finding Inspiration

My Mom sent me a card which I had given her years ago with this Henri Fantin-Latour painting, ‘Roses in a Bowl,’ 1883,  and I was inspired to try and recreate an arrangement in it’s honor. It’s not bad for a first run but I think with a little more scouring I could have found a better match for the peachy-pink roses up front, and a vintage container. It was fun to do and great to find inspiration in such a special way. A catalogue of Fantin-Latour’s work is definitely on my wish list and a visit to see his ‘Roses in a Bowl’ is also on my list for the next time I am at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Proof positive that the love of roses is timeless.IMG_9267IMG_7117IMG_7122IMG_7125IMG_7127IMG_7130IMG_7133IMG_7141Floral arrangement and photography Beth Horta for Sweet Sabelle.
