Breakfast with O’Keeffe Online

There is a necessity to support the arts during this time when museum access is severely restricted and many museums are temporarily closed. I attended a virtual seminar recently through the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Breakfast with O’Keeffe Online: O’Keeffe at Home. I felt magically transported, deeply immersed even, and the experience filled me all day (or at least until horrific news of the day woke me from a New Mexico cocoon). The webinar was a rich dive into Georgia’s two homes in New Mexico. It explained the architectural modifications she devised to make the homes functional for the art that flowed through her as well as how the landscape dictated those modifications and became a partner and guide in her painting. I apologize for the poor-quality screen shots, but you get the gist.

The museum is offering another zoom webinar on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, for an hour starting at 11 am EST, titled Breakfast with O’Keeffe Online: The Geologic Story of Abiquiu. This event is FREE to attend. There is an option to make a $10 donation with your ticket. Either way, here is a link to learn about and reserve a spot for the webinar. I am confident this lecture will be equally as transportive and uplifting.
