Today I verge off my normal path for a moment. I had taken pictures of a day at home on a too-hot summer day, and wondered how they would fit in. There was something dear about the moments of play my five year old had scattered around her room. I found myself recording the parts of her world that have shaped her first five years. The fabrics she first focused on as an infant. The dolls and characters that bring her comfort and joy. The books that feed her curiosity and mind. And only now, I realize I was trying to preserve something for myself. To stop time for a moment. My baby goes off to start her first day of kindergarten soon. And it is my wish that all of these moments that have shaped her first five years will caress her as she embarks on her new chapter. All my Love.
