A flower kindred came to visit last week. I feel lucky to get to work with her at her home in Rhode Island as part of her flowering team at Fig & Squill designing flowers for weddings and events. This visit was mostly for play, though I did put her to work helping deliver flowers for an event in the city. Our play was a visit to the New York Botanical Garden to see The Orchid Show: Mexican Modernism in Haupt Conservatory. It was worth the trip up to the Bronx, both of us feeling like we had been whisked down to warmer climes in Mexico. The visit was all the more rich with her seasoned botanical eye taking just as much delight in discovering the treasures of nature.
