For years I have been wanting to visit Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, Florida. An unexpected eight-hour layover left us with some time to kill at the Miami airport, and thanks to a rapid air train, we were able to get ourselves right to Vizcaya and back to the airport with great ease. Vizcaya was everything I had been dreaming about, beautiful gardens, unique architecture and interiors filled with treasures from Europe. I was delighted we had some time to kill in Miami and hope to return to spend more time there, maybe not in the heat of July, though. Not sure how they survived before air conditioning. In any case, I loved every minute!
