June is for roses here in the States. I brought my friend at work a jar of clematis blossoms from my tiny plot of ground downstairs for her early June birthday. She returned my jar filled with roses from her Rockland County garden. I’ve always wanted to see her roses as she’s a skilled gardener with impeccable taste. They were even better than I imagined; the colors, the scents, the variety. I photographed them into the afternoon and evening, capturing mostly all of them in their fleeting glory and in different stages of light. Nestled beside my bed they brought the sweetest of dreams.
Love them even as they fade.
