Summer is officially here on the East Coast, and in a lot of places the pandemic feels to be almost a thing of the past. An easy day trip from New York City, Fire Island off Long Island’s southern coast will transport you. A short ferry ride will land you on a majestic narrow island of wooden-planked pathways that lead through a delightful maze of cottages sans cars. Each cottage is a unique story to discover.
