For the Love of Books

For the Love of Books

I had the first two images of vintage books I had taken at The New York Botanical Garden Gift Store and I was wondering how to make them into a post. They looked so beautiful in their vintage glamour on the wooden bookshelves, and I love the old old book opened to a beautifully illustrated page with it’s marbleized fore edge. Books were on my mind and I came across a wonderfully disarrayed collection of books at a flower vendor in the flower market. I got to thinking, and came home and began pulling books off my shelves and arranging them by color, mood or subject. They’re not perfectly arranged, nor are they exclusively chronologized. But I found inspiration in the colors, the covers and spine designs. Even the fonts. I’ve always loved books, and seeing groupings of books in my own collection I understood in a new way how books can help show us who we are. What we aspire to learn, to see, to be. I will never tire of books.
