A New Leaf: Week 11

A New Leaf: Week 11

It was a full week. Two houseguests, Easter Sunday, our first bike ride to Domino Park of the season, a birthday party, a heatwave, a museum visit and an out-of-state gymnastics competition. Phew! Packing it in. Fun. Good thing I am eating my beans and protein for energy and meditating morning and night to try and stay grounded! Needless to say I am late getting this post out, again. Luckily for the photos or my recollection might not be half as good.

It was smooth sailing headache-wise, except. Except. I ate no more than 8 bites of a tart frozen yogurt (a dairy and sugar no-no) on Monday and by Wednesday I had a headache that lasted until midday Friday. At first I thought it might be the yogurt and the sugar, from which I felt the uneasy rush shortly after consuming but it soon dissipated. I had been eating my good square meals, perhaps not sleeping nearly enough, and hydrating properly. When the headache persisted for two more days I thought that maybe it was the heat, New York City set a record on Friday reaching 90 degrees fahrenheit. I have noticed in the past that I have experienced headaches when the heat index is high. It wasn’t a migraine, but it was bothersome enough to pop a number of Extra Strength Tylenol for three days.

In any case it was a full schedule. I am happy that I am feeling clear and present and grounded (mostly!), even when the days are packed and brimful.
